Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’ve most likely seen the complete insanity surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. If there is any company that knows how to reinvent itself, it is Nintendo. After turning around a near bankruptcy, Nintendo managed to make an incredible comeback by releasing not a new console but a tablet.
Back in 2017, Nintendo released the Nintendo Switch, a small tablet less powerful than the iPad mini that managed to become the bestselling console in history. I’ve always had an affinity for Nintendo, yet despite desperately wanting to play ‘Breath of the Wild’, I didn’t jump into the tablet/console until late in 2022. I have to admit, playing titles like ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ and ‘Tears of the Kingdom’ has been a revelation. These were some of the absolute best times I have ever played video games. Yet I had no intention of jumping into the mass hysteria surrounding the Switch 2. Then the pre-order night rolled around.
I happened to be working late that night. Still no intention of pre-ordering a Switch 2, and that’s when the idea of creating a video game channel surrounding the new console was presented to me. I had to admit, the idea did have merit. Especially given that I’m self-employed and am always open to new ideas. I also realized there was a massive amount of hype over this tablet/console, which would be relatively easy to leverage.
I have no idea what time I finally came around to the idea, but at some point in the night, I ended up investing in the Nintendo Switch 2 and thus making my first step into becoming a YouTube game streamer.
I’ve never done anything quite like this: investing in a business I know virtually nothing about. Ever since pre-order night, I’ve been doing a lot of research and learning how all of this works. As it turns out, despite all the hilarious memes and comedic portrayals, game streaming isn’t as easy as you would think.
If there is anything I’ve learned in life, it is the value and even the necessity of trying new things. Stasis equals death in today’s world. When you become stagnant, this is ultimately the death of every great venture or business. In my case, I am always on the lookout for advantages, new ways to grow and promote. If anyone is looking for the key to surviving as a self-employed individual, then this is it. So be sure to stick around as I’ll be posting updates and announcements. And one more thing, don’t ever be afraid to do new things. You and I were never meant to live in stagnancy and decay.
