On the surface that my sound odd. After all, isn't it FEMA's task to be involved with disasters? That's what I initially mentioned to John Ward, and what he had to tell me next was a bizarre saga of corruption and cover ups.

When I first spoke to John I wasn't sure what to expect. Of course I'd watched his coverage of the crisis, but you know how someone can be one way on camera and turn into someone else when the camera is off? Throughout my conversation with John, I found him to be genuine. He has a way of putting you at ease, I had the feeling that I was talking to a friend on the porch. The man you see on camera doesn't show you just how hard he is actually working. It doesn't show just how deeply he actually cares for people he's never even met. There aren't enough people like this man in the world
